A handle is provided which has been designed for interface with most ROV manipulator jaw sets. The cutter is fitted with a hydraulic connection to the host ROV for operation. The cutter incorporates an emergency disconnect mechanism, consisting of a combination of shear pins and quick release hydraulic connectors, which allow the unit to be released from the host in the event of a loss of power. The blade is bi-directionally driven hydraulically for ease of release. The unit body is designed to give a total weight suitable for ROV manipulator deployment.
